BART HABROWSKI - SCULPTURE ARTIST
Since an early age, I was fascinated by rocks, especially rocks moulded and sculpted by forces of nature: wind, waves, sand and time.

The very same principle applies to driftwood; tortured, beaten down by the pounding of water against the rocks, stones and pebbles - resulting in the same curious medium.
​
I have a "minimalist " approach to my work--
trying to interfere as little as possible with the shapes and textures that were created over time, sometimes millions of years by nature.
Nature is the Artist, I am just the Assistant.
My favourite "hunting grounds " lie on the shores of Lake Ontario, Georgian Bay, Muskoka and have even propelled me North, to Ontario's Northern Cottage Country.
All my creations, simple or obscure, are already embedded within each rock - or drift wood's- original form - I just help to reveal its message... Sometimes it just takes a keen eye and the correct angle for it to speak properly.

While I am aware that perception is highly subjective, my hope is to share my vision of nature's original works with the audience -aiding with a title, but left to their own interpretation.

Now, let me tell you about my obsession with fossils.....
